Batch Clip Rename shortcut (Control + Shift + R) does not work on my Mac(catalina, PT2021.7).

Do you have the clips selected prior to using the shortcut?

Are they showing in the clip bin? You probably have an uncleared search in the clip bin (clear find = shift-cmd-d).

Thank you for reply.
Of course I selected clips.
If I don't select clips, I can't click 'Batch Rename' from pulldown menu.

I know.
After use Find Clips (shift + cmd + F), we can't even Rename (shift + cmd + R) without select.

Sorry - had to ask! I'm not in front of my DAW right now so I can't test - but have you tried changing the keyboard focus? I'm not sure that's the solution, but maybe. Have you tried trashing preferences?

Not sure if the is what your issue is.

Batch Clip will not work if you ie:
1. take clip A and cut it up into many pieces (it will see it as one file still).
2. You first have to first turn the individual segments into new clips using consolidated or and audio-suite process
3. batch rename will then be available

This is not true. It's "batch clip rename" not "batch file rename"

Of course clips are not files so the root file won't get renamed (even if you try to force a batch file name afterward -- which is the only way to apply a batch clip rename to a file.) In that case you need to consolidate clips into files first, do batch clip rename, and then do file rename (Avid, c'mon give us a checkbox in batch clip rename so we don't have to do that stupid step.)

This is just one file sliced into clips and nothing else done to it before batch renaming.
