Yes for boot images!

Windows 11 clean install/take all updates/de-bloat a few items/Settings--->turn most OFF
AVID recommended optimizations
Free versions: Chrome/CCleaner/SuperAntiSpyware/Macrium Reflect

Take another boot image backup & install pro tools etc

Image #1-with Windows installed and tweaked, all drivers for all hardware and with quicktime installed.
Image #2-with Pro Tools installed and tested for proper function.
Image #3-with all your plugins installed.
Image #4-after a month or two of smooth sailing, this will be your "Fully working dandy" image for the future(its up to you if you want to delete earlier images, but I would keep them as drive space is cheap these days)

I assume you mean take the images on the new step at each step?

I've been using AVG and Malawarebytes for a long time without any issues I'm aware of. I've also used Acronis True Image and still have that.

Does AVID have recommended optimizations for Win-11?

Great. Same optimizations as Win10.

Default Free Windows 10 Audio Workstation Build and Tweak Guide

Even though many are on Windows 11 already, this is still a good article:

https://www.pro-tools-expert.com/pro...%20-%207837154

See Microsoft’s Unofficial Guides - Part 1 and Part 2 – from the above link, by clicking on the “PC BUILD AND TWEAK GUIDE” red button

In my opinion, that article is WAY too long and wordy ... it'll scare people off! Building a pc is not rocket science. There's LOTS of new/good/concise info & videos out there.

Maybe not rocket science for YOU!!! I'm pulling the trigger tomorrow! I need to settle on my graphics card. Otherwise, I've got my list ready, thanks to you guys! I'm just afraid I'll overlook something really important that I'll forget to ask about. I wish there was a "Be sure to ask the techie that's building your system the following..." document.

Just google "12th gen audio PC build" and YouTube search "12th gen audio PC build". Not that hard.
