Default Waves Clarity Vx noise reduction

Looks pretty damn amazing. $249 for the intro Pro version, and just $30 for the basic one.

Tried it tonight. Was causing all kinds of CPU peaks and 9173 errors on my M1 Mac Mini.

It is indeed a little CPU hungry.

I can see throwing it on a DX Bus but on every DX track is definitely going to suck up your resources. I can see using it and Committing to that track.

Yes. It's awesome. Does a great job on removing the background while keeping the voice clear.

I usually use iZOTOPE Voice Denoise to clean-up podcasts, it does a great job. But Clarity seems to keep more crispness to the voice. And Clarity does better with extreme background noise, it's almost like RX in an easier to use plugin. But they are both good plugins. If you already have RX and Voice Denoise, you don't NEED Clarity Vx, but it's nice to have.

The standard and Pro version use the same neural network (though Pro has a HF option) so the quality will be the same. Pro just adds more adjustment that most people won't need.

I tested it with everything from basic computer noise, to washer/dryer, to extreme traffic noise, it works pretty well every time.

This link will save you 10% if you spend $50+

Thanks for the 10%, Brian!

Demoed, extremely impressed, bought. When you turn the control to the noise component - there's often no dialogue component there at all, which is incredible. That means the clean signal really is clean, artefacts are extremely low. I tried it on a ton of material on a recent challenging series, and it was almost always markedly better than RX, even with a lot of RX TLC.

The biggest drawback is CPU. I ended up on a 1024 buffer to stop it glitching, even when used as Audiosuite.

It can indeed be CPU hungry when you load up multiple instances. Im running 10 cores (20 HT) 48GB Ram and at 1024 I can get about 2 or 3 simultaneous instances before cracks and pops start. But it's worth it for the speed and quality.
