Default Icon installed!

She's a beaut too!

A few little hiccups from shipping but mostly all is very good.

Avid should have kept selling this, there's no reason why they couldn't have done this and the S6 as 2 totally different beasts.

I've seen the S6 and it's very impressive however it's way too over the top for me with all the colours and screens, what I do like about Icon is it feels very much like an analogue workflow.

Long live Icon!

No, what maybe should have happened was ICON II, which was in development. But in 2010 Avid decided to buy Euphonix rather than "compete" with them using ICON II. The guys working on ICON II of course would have preferred Avid make that product, but they didn't and we'll never know. Those guys now work elsewhere in pro audio.

Fender, although he was gone when ICON II started. And Lev and Gannon are at UA.

Wow OK.

Did many migrate from Euphonix?

Ironically, I had a Euphonix CS2000 before the Icon when in.

Also,

I'm entirely perplexed as to how to route the cabling for the display. I see the port on the bottom and that's all good.. but where to from there?

When the post and arm are in I can't see any possible route for the cables to take.

Stef.

You have to remove the post. Snake the cables through. Then put the post back on. It's very small hole there. Barely fits. But I have a dvi, power cable, and usb cable jammed through there.

Congrats on the icon!!! It is imo superior to the s6. This is a real console. S6 is a bunch of fader ports stuck together...

Not that I'm aware of. I don't think it even hit the photo type stage.
