PT 8 - 003 - PC
Hey guys, I've searched a few phrases and have tried a few things in PT with no luck. I have a gig I need to rehearse for badly tomorrow... The track I'm rehearsing to, the guitarist tunes to Drop B flat... the only guitar I have tuned low is at Drop C (with a Floyd Rose, tuning nightmare for this). I need to rehearse this song at home in C (not B Flat) just to get the licks down, then I'll borrow the guitarist's Drop B Flat guitar for the show. Can some please tell me the best and/or easiest way to increase the pitch of a stereo track one Whole Step (from B flat to C) without increasing the tempo of the track. I'm sure I could get this if time permitted but it's time for bed now then time to practice when I wake up. Thanks for your time!!! -Monty |

Elastic pitch..., or if you have it or download the demo, Pitch 'n time by Serato. There are actually many other options but one of those should get you by just fine.

+1 for Serato pitch 'n Time and I use it for that very situation a lot. Elastic Pitch SHOULD be able to do it But I have yet to figure it out.

Just use Digi's time shift. Bear in mind it doesn't sound GREAT but you can at least get the song in the key where you want it for reference.
Have you got anything without SPAM? |

But I don't like SPAM.....wait a minute, this is starting to sound like the Spanish Inquisition....
BTW, using Serato, I have shifted songs a whole step with very good results and beyond that is still acceptable for song learning. Certain sounds will transpose better than others and I have shifted bass as much as a 4th but other instruments don't fare so well as sw rec said.

Is that a penguin on your television set? Or.... "Among our chief weaponry are such diverse elements as fear, supplies, ruthless efficiency, and an almost fanatical devotion to the pope." |

Thanks for your responses! I ended up using elastic audio, i was a pain at first being the first time using it. If you're looking to just detune a track for reference you need to basically read the Elastic Audio section in the manual backwards.
Either way, didn't sound that great, but did the trick and saved my butt!!! Thanks... and I will check out other recommendations! -Monty! |
