Default computer compatible?

I run PT 6.4 (HD2) on a G4 Quicksilver 800mhz single processor ( OS 10.3.5). Has anyone had any experience with these (below) "hotrodded" macs? Will they improve performance significantly over a "stock" dual 1.1 G4 or so? Is it overkill? I am feeling a need for more horsepower, but do not want to sacrifice dependability. I have been told that the buss speed can negate the extra MHZ of these "upgrades".??? thanks.

You definitely don't want to be using a Sonnet accelerator. There have been lots of posts regarding these cards causing problems.

They're not exactly giving these machines away. Any reason why you don't want to move up to a G5?

Thanks Lee, that is what i kind of expected.. just wanted to hear from you experts. I was looking for a "relatively" inexpensive way to make things a little quicker, and was curious as to what kind of improvements I would see with the upgrade. This is the only system I have ever owned, and until recently (then joined the DUC) was rather content in my ignorance. Now i read about all the options, problems, and advantages, of various system configs.... has gotten me thinking about upgrades. Not to mention that I have learned a great deal. thanks!
