Hi guys,
Just downloaded an installed 2023.6, but when launching I get a message that the playback engine needs more memory allocated. When I try to open that window, it crashes. Anyone else. Windows 10 Pro. 40 gb ram |

Same old drill. What is the playback engine Pro Tools is trying to use? Don't assume it's necessarily HDX.
Hold down N while starting Pro Tools until the playback engine dialog appears and see if you can select a different engine. This error has nothing to do with actual memory in the computer. If it's trying to use HDX did you install the new driver... try rolling them back to the previous 2023.3 driver. Last edited by Darryl Ramm; 06-08-2023 at 06:49 PM. |

This is the first time I've encountered this after years of updates.
The correct device was selected, and clicking next caused the crash. Installing the previous driver did the trick. Thank you. Media Man |
