Default Cable Quality - Let\'s hear it - BNC/clocking - Mic cables

So I'm looking to get into wordclocking some gear together - What's the deal with the crazy high prices I see for some brands of cables with BNC connectors?

Secondly. I'm checking out some options for "decent" mic cables. Has anyone tried the Blue series Kiwi, Cranberry or Blueberry cables? I'm guessing that they are decent, and they are also in my price range. Paying out the nose for Mogami, Canare, or Monster just seems… naive? Prove me wrong, and steer me right, eh?
