Any way to autosave in Protools 8.0.1?
Hi,
I realize there is an auto backup facility within Protools, but is there any way of making it auto save the current session? I've got used to AppleS every few seconds, but would be far easier if it would auto save. Thanks, Phill. |

If I remember correctly, autosave was never implemented due to the fact it hiccoughs a recording.
I might be wrong here, feel free to correct me. |

There is probably a way to do this with Automator on Mac OSX or any of the other programs like Quickkeys, but for the reasons outlined this may not be a good idea. I have found that 5 mins for the backup is pretty normal and makes downtime very low.

Re: Any way to autosave in Protools 8.0.1?
Thanks for the information. I hadn't thought there was a good reason why there isn't auto save, just assumed it was something that either hadn't been implemented or I hadn't found. As you say the auto backup works fine and doesn't loose much, just not quite as easy as having auto save.
An ideal implementation would be an option for auto save at the end of every recording, that way it would allow the functionality without causing recording glitches. Thanks again, Phill. |
