OT: U2- Vertigo
I've been a fan since WAR.
Over the past 20 years, I've seen them shine and also fail to impress. Their last effort - "All that you can't leave behind" - was not the big U2 album a lot of the press made it out to be, not to me anyways. I don't know how this forthcoming cd will be, but if "Vertigo", the first single, is any indication, then I'm glad to welcome them back, I thinks it's fabulous. This is the U2 I prefer, this song's kicks some serious @$$, I'm even pinching myself as I haven't spoken this highly of U2 since "Achtung Baby". I just watched the U2 iPod promo video: www.apple.com

And it was entirely mixed on PTLE 6.4 running on a G4 (1 GHz) Powerbook with 1Gig or RAM and a 002.
The plug-ins came entirely from the Digirack bundle, with additional percussion fed from a mini-disc player stolen in a Dublin pub. Amazing. Actually, I think they used Logic. |

Actually, it really doesn't matter what they used. There's a song there, there's some energy and presence, human performance comes through in the music.
