Before I get going let me say this is my first time here so be gentle.
I'm using the mbox and 6.4 (i uninstalled 6.4 and installed 6.7 and the problem persisted). This weekend I was recording some vocals and its said I had very little hard drive space. I cleared a few gigs and contunued on - stupidly. At the tail end of the session protools froze up and then the program shut down. When I tried to open PT it opens fine. When I attempt to open any session (new or old) it gets to "restoring misc. settings" then closes PT. No error message. nothing. I backed up my hard drive and cleared 50 gigs of space, still no good. I loaded protools to my laptop and used the mbox with that and I have no problems at all. What do I do? |

You should probably do an uninstall and reinstall of Pro Tools and the PACE System Files - it sounds like something got corrupted or deleted by mistake.

I uninstalled protools entirely and reinstalled it and the problem persisted. If thier are other files (pace system files) that I need to remove and reistall or update, how do I do so? Where do I find them?

There is a topic stuck to the top of this forum called,
"Win XP/ Pro Tools 6.x General Troubleshooting ". You'll find a link to the PACE drivers as well as other helpful information there. |

You must be looking at a different screen than I. I cant find the link you described. Can you paste in a post please? Also, I uninstalled and reinstalled pt and the PACE system files on my pc from my PT disk 6.4 and the problem persists.

WinXP/ProTools6.xGeneralTroubleshooting is the title of the thread. It is tacked to the top of this forum with a "virtual pin".
In there is a link to the newest PACE drivers which are newer than the ones on your disk, and solve the SP2 reboot problem. It is the reason why everyone has been recommending to load the newest drivers; loading the ones from your disk are just re-loading the old ones.
