AIR Plugin Problem -- "THE FACTORY CONTENT WAS NOT FOUND"
Pro Tools LE 8.0.3cs1, Mac.
My AIR plugins aren't working, and causing my system to lock up. If I wait long enough, an error message appears: --------------------------- THE FACTORY CONTENT WAS NOT FOUND: /Applications/Digidesign/Pro Tools Creative Collection PLEASE LOCATE THE CONTENT FILE "Mini Grand.big" (followed by a greyed blank box) ---------------------------- Same error for other AIR plugins (with obvious differences) I have confirmed the file DOES exist at /Applications/Digidesign/Pro Tools Creative Collection/Mini Grand/Mini Grand.big I clicked on the above file to create a pref file (as advised on another forum), but made no difference. Can anyone help? Thanks, Geoff |

Re: AIR Plugin Problem -- "THE FACTORY CONTENT WAS NOT FOUND"
Try reinstalling. Perhaps some file didn't get copied over or installed.

Re: AIR Plugin Problem -- "THE FACTORY CONTENT WAS NOT FOUND"
Try trashing the AIR database file located at:
/Library/Application Support/Digidesign/AIR/Content/air.db That should reset it and force it to search for the content again. |

Re: AIR Plugin Problem -- "THE FACTORY CONTENT WAS NOT FOUND"
Ok I might... but will it mean having to reinstall my 3rd party plugins, or are they entirely separate from the Pro Tools installation? (It took me a L-O-N-G time to get them all set up and authenticated).
If I reinstall, should I uninstall first? Thanks Geoff |

Re: AIR Plugin Problem -- "THE FACTORY CONTENT WAS NOT FOUND"
I'd suggest deleting the air.db file before attempting a reinstall.

Re: AIR Plugin Problem -- "THE FACTORY CONTENT WAS NOT FOUND"
Just went to do that, and there is no air.db file. That folder is empty.
That seems odd? Geoff |

Re: AIR Plugin Problem -- "THE FACTORY CONTENT WAS NOT FOUND"
Uninstall Pro Tools and Creative Collection only. Keep Audio Driver, etc., and then reinstall Pro Tools and Creative Collection.

Ok will do, thanks for the help! What is the best way to do this uninstall? Simply drag these files to the Trash?
