Default acceleration question!

I am working on the intro to a song. It is supposed to gradually get faster and faster. I have a bunch of regions in place that make up a loop that is the backbone. Right now the loop repeats at a steady tempo. Is there a way to put the accelerando in the timeline so that the grid changes, but also so that the regions stay locked to their respective grid lines and move with the grid and tempo changes? Thanks in advance.

HI,

with sample loops you either have to adjust the length manually with TC/E to each acceleration
or use a sample slicer to let it adjust automatically.

Try Synchronic (demo) from digideisgn. It just does what the name suggests and does it good:
Keep a loop in synch with the tempo. If you like it, the ilok-icence goes cheap on ebay.

BTW you know how to make tempo maps in PT? if not consult your PT Reference Manual.
Audio regions will not adjust to the tempo changes automatically, MIDI will do.

hi there,

When you create an audio track you can choose between a "sample based" and "tick based" audio track.
When you choose "ticks" the regions will behave as if they were midi
(with their audio limits, of course)
and will move with a tempo change.
In this way it is easy for you to experiment with different speeds.

You can also change the "samples" or "ticks" later.
At the left of the edit window, in your track there's a small metronome icon
(I think it's green, but I am unsure).
Click it and choose either...

Hope this helps,

cheers
