I have been experiencing constant -9093 errors. Trashing preferences worked for a couple days and, although it was annoying, it worked.

Now that isn't working.

I'm depressed

Pro Tools closes after loading plugins

I actually formatted my Mac without time backup and still

so yeah, 2023.3 made a very bad first impression for me

Are you saying that you should, or I should? I've already ventured into his Symphony/Stratus world, primarily so I have a chance of loading old sessions which used EA plugins (the migration isn't easy but it can be done). If you haven't already grabbed Symphony/Stratus you definitely should. Or maybe you were referring to the surround versions. And I agree that they're a fantastic swan song from Michael.

I have the normal versions, only problem is they are not AAX Apple Silicon native yet. Just sayin' if it is time to forget lexicon altogether and buy the 3D versions which are latest and greatest from MC.

2023.3 is a no-go here. It won't load many plugins, especially virtual synths. I've tried all of the usual measures and tricks (delete prefs, reinstall, take out half the plugins from their folder, launch, put them back). Rolling back to 2022.12 made them show up and work regularly again.

2023.3 works wonderfully here on latest Ventura. All plugins updated.

A bunch of your plugins are clearly not AS native.

Tick the box to run Pro Tools under Rosetta. Don’t roll back to the prior version.

Ok, let's explain Apple Silicon again: M1 / M2 processors are different animals than Intel processors. Apple Silicon processors (M1/M2) need arm64 coded software to run natively on the processor. However, you CAN run x64 (intel coded) software on M1/M2 processors, with Apple's Rosseta2.

Well Pro Tools 2022.12 was the first version that could run natively on Apple Silicon processors, however it loads with Rosetta2 by default. When opened with Rosetta2, Pro Tools scans all your x64 (Intel) coded plugins.

With the launch of Pro Tools 2023.3 , Pro Tools opens as Silicon native app, and it won't scan / can't use Intel coded x64 plugins. If you still have a lot of intel-coded plugins, go to your Mac's App folder, right click on the Pro Tools app, click 'show info' and check the 'Open with Rosetta' box.

Also, Pete Gates made a nice app that checks if your AAX plugins are still x64, or universal binaries (Universal binaries will run both as x64 when pro tools launches with Rosetta, or as arm64 when Pro Tools launches as silicon native app) https://petegates.com/pgptprefs.html

Perhaps a lot of your plugins have updates available, most of the AAX plugins are available as universal binaries already. Check AVID's database which is frequently updated with AAX silicon native available plugins: https://avid.secure.force.com/pkb/ar...-Compatibility

However, some third party developers are not ready yet with AAX silicon native versions of their plugins. If you are dependent on those, run Pro Tools with Rosetta2

And with that revision I lost the use of my Command8.

It's a pity since was still working fine.
I will have to buy the SSL UF8 then.

One of those occasions when feeling like a fool is perfectly fine... Many thanks! It worked, of course!
