Can a new AVID i/o card be put into an old 192 box?
I assume not but still wonder if it would work
 192s are SO cheap - $400 or less for 8X8 analog digital inputs... wow...

Don't know what "put into an old box" but yes, you can use the old 192 blue interfaces with the HD native and HDX cards via digilink
Lots of people have it here on the forum and it works great! Best Christopher

Sorry - I was not clearer ---
How about installing a New HD i/o expansion card (A/D car for example with the nice new converters) into an old (Blue) Avid/Digidesign 192 frame? Probably a pipe dream but curious anyway... Thanks!

Ahh Sorry, now I got it
 Thought you meant using an old interface  That question I can not contribute to answering as we never even thought about that. However, to be a bit of a downer I doubt that will work BUT there is always a possibility. If you wait a little bit someone who knows is gonna clarify this for both of us and if it works, I know what I am buying next Best Regards Christopher

no, the HD I/O cards and the 192 cards are not interchangeable between the boxes
