What is gain structure before converters?
I'd like to know for digidesign what the gain structure is before the converters.
First, by changing the gain in the HW Setups menu, am I actually affecting a change in the 001 input, *prior* to the input of A/D converters? Second, if the gain change is pre-converter, is it structured in the manner of input buffer -> pad -> buffer -> A/D? Or is it some kind of variable gain amplifier ahead of the converter? If the gain structure is something else, perhaps digital in nature, what are the absolute limits an analog input signal can be allowed to reach on any input, in balanced and unbalanced form? (limit before distorting the input buffer, limit before digital full-scale, limit before damage)? Thanks. nuke |

Re: What is gain structure before converters?
Enquiring minds want to know, so I'm bumping this back up to the top.
Can anyone at digidesign explain the structure of the front-end of the input section on the 001 hardware? |
