Default Elastic Audio: Pop on fade over warped region?

Hey guys,

Just getting my hands into 7.4. I have a bass note I want to be a bit longer on the fade. Go into warp and drag it out, cool. Fade to black...BIG pop on the crossover to the fade. Like it didn't crossfade into the fade file or somethig...is this normal? A Bug? User Error?

Thanks!

Mike

Technically it's user error - you should really delete any fades on EA tracks before stretching/compressing them, then reapply the fade.

I am applying the fade after the stretch...

Is anyone else seeing this behavior?

Since Fades are not realtime, the boundary point will not always align with the non-deterministic nature of TCE'd EA regions, which can result in a glitch (which you're experiencing.)

The workaround is to apply the fade on the region BEFORE any TCE stretching, consolidate the region and fade, then TCE the resulting whole region.

Admittedly, this not very elegant but until we get real-time fades, it is the way its gotta be.

Gotchya...I guess I'm used to how well this worked in Vegas. The workaround is fine, though...or I might just use volume automation...thanks!
