Re: Top Plugins for Pro Tools Post
Dialogue EQ: Focusrite
Dialogue Compression: Digi's Compressor Dialogue Reverb: revibe Dialogue Noise Reduction: sony oxford Master Bus Limiting: sony oxford the focusrite stuff that comes with protools HD2 I like, because its not bad and its free. Same with the EQ3 from Digi. I also really like the sony oxford stuff. Its not super expensive and does a fine job. I got the noise reduction kit and the limiter for now, but want to get into the EQs and Compressors downt he road. Also, Pluggo is an awesome deal for those weird, one time use effects.

Re: Top Plugins for Pro Tools Post
Dialogue EQ: Renaissance EQ, Q10 for surgery
Dialogue Compression: Renaissance Compressor (used lightly on smooth setting), C4 for VO Dialogue: Limiting: L1 - rarely necessary in film.. use the faders, although light use of L1 can lift a VO "off the screen" Dialogue Reverb: ReVibe for small rooms & ADR verb, RenVerb or TL Space for big spaces (caves, gym's etc) Dialogue Noise Reduction: EQ, Cedar DNS2000, CAT43 Dialogue Warming: RenEQ, C4 Effects EQ: RenEQ, Q10 Effects Compression: RenComp, L1, Massey Limiter Effects Reverb: ReVibe, RenVerb, TL Space Master Bus EQ: RenEQ Master Bus Compression: RenComp Master Bus Limiting: L1, L2, Massey Limiter Master Bus Volume Maximizing: not for film Master Bus Dither: Waves IDR You'll notice I use a lot of Waves stuff, but that's because I've owned the Platinum bundle for years... so I reach for what I know... I have to say I've just bought all the Massey plugs and am loving them. |

Here is what I have been using.
Dialogue EQ: Renaissance EQ, Focusrite, occasional EQIII Dialogue Compression: Renaissance Compressor, Focusrite, and recently Massey Dialogue: Limiting: L2, BF, and Massey Dialogue Reverb: RVerb, Reverb One, and sometimes Dverb Dialogue Noise Reduction: Waves Xnoise Dialogue Warming: PSP Vintage Warmer Effects EQ: RenEQ Effects Compression: RenComp, L2, Massey Compressor Effects Reverb: RVerb, Reverb One, and sometimes Dverb Master Bus EQ: Ren Master EQ Master Bus Compression: RenComp Master Bus Limiting: L2, Massey Master Bus Volume Maximizing: L2, Massey Master Bus Dither: Waves IDR or Powerdither Thanks for the feedback so far guys. It's great to see what others are using for mixing in the box. Ultimataely, the decision to buy plugins is based on listening to what they can do and price, but it's also nice to see what others are using as well. So keep 'em coming. This is great. Steve |
