Default Another Digi002 Problem...

Well, besides my 002 losing connection every other minute, now its not reconizing my first 2 inputs??? I'm no longer getting a signal into Pro Tools from Channels 1 and 2, but the rest seem to be just fine? Anyone had this problem? Idea what might cause this?

*(I've checked all cabling and connections to narrow it down to a 002 issue.)

Thanks--

Well, since the vast majority of hardware problems seen on the 002 series are caused by the power harness, it's my first suspect. I'd open it up and reseat the power harness - if you're not confident of your skills, just contact Digidesign and describe the trouble - it might need to go in for service.

Sound to me like a bad firewire connection. Try replacing the cable. I had such a problem and got really frustrated until I replaced the simple firewire cable. Give it a try.

Could it be the mic/line buttons on 1 and 2. I know it's simple but hey.

This is happening to me as well. And not going in and out, just stopped. Stopped everything on one and two. It's really, really annoying. Cause, I can't really go without my 002r right now, but i need those inputs. Have you contacted Digi yet? If so, could you PM me or reply to this as to what their answer is? Thank you.

Yeah, I even brought it to a friends house who uses PT, but nothing. No input there either. I wondered at first if it was my I/O in some weird configuration that was changed without me knowing it. But I can't get either line in or XLR in to work. Took it to a different system and nothing worked.

Depressing. Especially since I work at a Pro Audio shop who is a digi dealer. I always talked about how high quality of a piece the 002r was. Now, with the problems I have been having, it's just getting annoying.

Have you talked to Digidesign yet? Just seeing if you have gotten a response on our problems. Now it's really irritating me. When playing any particular song for more than about 2 minutes, I get this crazy distorted tone just blasting through my speakers. Has anyone heard of this yet? Wow, it's stupid.

bluesboyiv,

I have no idea why this would effect hardware issues, but I uninstalled Pro Tools from my computer and then reinstalled everything (Pro Tools, Plugins, etc.). Just to get a fresh new start, just in case my I/O settings were somehow changed, or whatever. It seems to be working fine now. Both problems I was having, both losing connection to the 002 and channels 1/2 audio issue are nowhere to be found? WERID!!! Now, lets just pray that it lasts!
