Question.....could it be any more black?
Answer.......none more, none more black.

Those Imations that i spoke of above are really black. Granted, i do stare at a computer screen all day but my eyes are still pretty good. And they don't let a speck of light through, if you hold them up to a light source. Unlike just about every other CD-R that seems to be somewhat translucent.

Anyway, Imation seems to have a slightly different CD out every time I hit the stores, so some of them may be redish/greenish.

Here's a link for some black/black w/no lable. But I never tried these, as I avoid generics like the plague-

In fact, the only thing i don't like about the black CD is that i can't just grab a sharpie and write on the disk. Well, i can but it's impossible to read.

Anybody know of a white marker, like a sharpie, that is safe for CDs ????

...my fave, though, are the black CD-Rs made by TDK. over 100 of these puppies burned and not a coaster yet (knock on wood...). They also play in my 1995 Adcom player, where others have failed. These also have the writable surface. They're up to 40x, TDK Certified Plus (whatever that means), and black (for x-tra coolness factor... ).
For masters though, I still use Apogee gold archival or EMTEC ceramic coated FWIW...

I think the DVD Player has to be compatible to play CD-Rs not the CD-Rs. Read your DVD specifations.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">I was going to order from the web site that you gave, but your comment about generic CDR's got me worried. What don't you like about them? Do they tend to have a high failure rate?
