Default Long distance spotting session w/o isdn

Need to have a session with editor and producer who are in another city. They'll be in an edit room and don't have isdn. I'd like to avoid Skype because of the delay.
Is there something like remote desktop that people have used?
Any suggestions on how to pull this off would be appreciated.
Many thanks,
JJ

You can use Team Viewer to control another computer remotely -- you just need both sides to be on and talking so you can get and give the connection code. I think you can do a session with it for free.

You could try a demo of LogMeIn Pro -- I think it's a 14 day demo. There is a LogMeIn sound driver and you can even send your PT session out this with PT 10 and above. I am using LogMeIn Pro to tunnel into work and have even switched my PT session to this so I can hear it at home for case where there is an obvious fix or change needed.

Then of course there is Source Connect for Pro recording sessions and working. However, both sides need it and it takes some doing to setup.

Source Elements now has a thing called Source Connect Now that will send audio out your PT session into Chrome (You'll need Source Nexus to drive the audio to your Chrome, or, use the digital I/O on your computer). The other simply needs Chrome. Then you can have a 2-way conversation. Check it out! It will replace phone patches I predict.

It works well. I have been part of the test team and have used it for remote direction across the pond

Hello Mike,
Is Source Connect Now the one you've tested?
Thanks,
JJ

Hi you also might like to check out cinesync
https://www.cinesync.com/

That plus Skype or standard phone for conversation might be what you need.

Cheers

Bruno

Yep, we use this for such a thing - great for making sure both parties are looking at the same spot in a busy sequence

I've used Slingbox successfully for this purpose. From my tests there is a 7 second delay on client end but the lip sync is dead on.
