Default Grouping Glitch? Brain Glitch?

OK, for the life of me, I can't get this grouping to stop. I had grouped some drum tracks (per Kenny Gioia's Beat Detective tutorial video), finished cleaning up the drums, etc. I've suspended and activated the drums a few times, based on various tasks. I've been trying to do a simple flyover of some percussion, and, regardless of the drums being grouped/selected/ungrouped, all of the drum tracks are highlighting -- I just want ONE track. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

I wish. Tried it. Nada. Everything that was in my original drum group
is getting highlighted, no matter what I do.

Any ideas, anybody? I'm completely stuck, at this point. I've spent more time trying to figure this thing out than I'd need to on the entire track. I'm pulling my hair out, for sure.

I can't select any portion of any of these grouped tracks without every track in the group being selected. I've tried every modifier, clicked every button suggested...nada.

Did you accidentally enable the ALL group?(I've done that)? Otherwise, trashing prefs is step #1 for any "odd" system behavior

I've enabled and disabled ALL, trashed prefs...NADA. It's not selecting EVERY track, though--just the tracks that I had in my original drum group. I know it's got to be one silly little thing that I'm overlooking, but I'm coming up empty when I troubleshoot/search.

BONUS EDIT--I just noticed you're in Nashville, too! Thanks for the help, fellow Davidson citizen!

Have you tried deleting the group and recreating it? One thing that gets me sometimes is when I duplicate tracks and they stay in the group of the original track. Any chance some funny business like that is going on?

Do you mean delete the entire group, tracks included?

No, deleting the group and leaving the tracks intact. It would make no sense to delete the tracks. Click the little triangle in the Groups pane, there should be an option to clear a selected group.

Man, if it was me, I might create a new session, then import all of the tracks and start fresh.

Sometimes sessions get glitched.

I nearly did that. Then, I was watching one of Kenny G.'s clip group tutorials and realized what I was missing--after I had gone through everything with beat detective, I grouped ALL THE DRUM tracks as one (so as to not have a bunch of little fragments). All I had to do was ungroup the actual tracks and group them individually. I'm an idiot.
