Is there a reason why the Session Length value in the Session Setup Window can't be set to less than 6h.
If I work on a 5 minutes song, I don't want to see 6h of empty space when zooming out. Another related parameter: The "Edit Window Default Length" value in the Display Preferences is supposed to limit the Length of the Edit Window, but it doesn't Here is what the Reference Guide says, but I cannot make that work. This preference sets a default length for the Edit window in hours, minutes, seconds, and frames (Pro Tools Ultimate only). This is useful if you want to assemble a session of a particular length or leave extra room to expand the Edit window’s work area in your session. The maximum length is 24 hours. For best scrollbar sensitivity, set the length to slightly longer (a minute or more) than the total session or song length. Any insights on these two values? Thanks

Weird. My experience with default settings is that unless there is an errant bit of automation (often hidden) later in the timeline, the viewable/zoomable horizontal width of the session is automatically trimmed to near the last clip.
Are you working from a template that may include hidden automation, perhaps due to an earlier session having been spotted to a specific timecode value? You can try this to be sure: • Select all. • Edit > Clear Special > All Automation |

If I zoom out (key command R), the Session zooms out all the way to show from 0:00 to 6h, showing me 5 hour and 55minutes of empty space that I don't need to see.

Currently having this exact problem. If you found a solution please let me know! Changing "Session Length Limit," using the "Time Operations" window, as well as deleting all automation (there was none) did not work.

I just double-click the Zoomer Tool to fill the screen with all clips, or use keyboard shortcuts to select all clips on the longest track, then fill the screen with the all clips selection or set the 1-5 keys on the main keyboard to the screen width I want. For example, "1" is set for 5 minutes and "5" is set to sample level and "2, 3 and 4" to 2.5 minutes, 1 minute 15 seconds, and 30 seconds. As always, YMMV.

Is this happening on all sessions? Any existing sessions that doesn't have the same issue?
