Default 10.5.1 Leapord, 8 Core 2.8ghz Mac Pro Works!!!

Just a heads up here guys, but it's working. 10.5.1, newer 2008 Mac Pro 2.8 dual quad, and PTLE 7.4 with the cs3 update.

I was doing a 3 1/2 hour session no problems yet. I will do more testing and post the results soon.

That is SOOO good to know. I have the same system and been holding out on the update, but really need to do it now due to some Boot Camp adjustments I need to make (and can't do anymore in Tiger). Thanks for the info. Keep us informed on your results if you get a chance. By the way, I'd be interested to know how your plug-ins and instruments (if any) are performing.

Thanks again!

Jeremy

Hello

I was just wondering, are you able to use all 8 cores in the RTAS menu?

Cause I have the same system as well but if I use more then 2 processor, the softwares keeps popping a message saying hardware held off.

But I'm in PTLE 7,4cs2 only.

I've said this in other threads but I put LE 7.4cs2 (and now cs3) on a 2008 Mac Pro 8 core with an MBox 2 pro and I have to say I couldn't use it in a 'proper' session. It works - kind of - but it is still very unstable with lots of weirdness happening all over the place. I'm finding major issues with clocking and importing audio files, very unsettling stuff. To be fair, I am using a huge number of plugs and VIs which may well not be helping matters. My best advice would be to hold out for official support unless you really can't and in that case approach with extreme caution.

The tests are posted but I loaded up one of my older sessions that is a 5 piece rock band multi-tracked drums, guitars, bass, vox, overdubs with layering etc... every track has 1-3 plugs on each. It works perfectly fine.

I am happy.

This is great news as I have just ordered one as its nearing the end of tax year and thought it was gonna gather dust for a while!

Are you able to use Rewire though? I need Ableton to work or else it will be gathering dust!
