Thanks Guys,

I think I'll go for it. I was most interested in the "Transform" packaged plugins but I could probably use the noise reduction and maxx volume stuff also. LL3 stuff I'll have to check out. Would like to move to Mercury but that's too much $$$ for now. It took me 4 years to upgrade my Gold from 3.0 to 5.1 last year !

I don't hear anyone talking about Q-clone anymore, I thought that was curious.

Yeah the Massive Pack promotion has only NOT been extended once in the last half a dozen years I think. With the economy like it is it would seem weird if they didn't do it this year to help push sales of HD systems. Now if only we don't have too may PT 8 plug in compatibility issues...this should be a good year.

I will. Its an amazing plugin! also very interesting being able to see the actual EQ curve that your outboard or plugins create. a real eye opener for me.

Now if they would only make C-clone for my Tube-Tech CL1B.

Chris

Oddly enough, this is one plug-in with which I never bother with presets. Mostly, I use the R-channel when I need some sidechain-driven corrective intervention. What makes the R-channel particularly adept for such work is the presence of separate filtering facilities for each dynamic processor (i.e. the compressor & the expander/gate). This is particularly welcome when I work on live recordings, where bleeds are more pronounced and tend to shift in nature.

The flexibility of these side-chain filters and the ability to monitor each sidechain independently further enhance the already powerful (and very musical) features of the R-channel.

Considering the very specific nature of each case, I doubt presets would make any more sense than what they normally do. (To me, very little, unless we’re talking effects.) Beyond what I described above, one could easily copy preset settings from the RenEQ 4 and/or the Rcomp/Rvox duo into the R-channel.

IHTH.

I'm on Platinum..... Still need to go a few hundo in to upgrade to the L3's which includes 3 or 4 of the L's, but most importantly has two of the multiband 3's. Need em bad. Need to eat too though......

+1 for Platinum + L3 Multimaximizers!!!!
