Thanks crisdee.

How did the UFX handle PT? I know their stability rep is excellent but PT10 seems to be a bit clunky when changing things like buffer settings with 3rd party interfaces. The 003R integrates perfectly but I could deal with some extra steps if need be.

Just reboot PT after you change buffer settings. That's the clunk. Not a showstopper unless you're constantly switching buffer settings.

I received a fair offer on my BLA 003R to follow up on and now have an RME UFX enroute. I am excited to get this thing in and put it to use. The features on the UFX will be very useful, 12 analog inputs with 4 very nice clean pres. The BLA work improved the pres on the 003R but I still never really used them much.

I think I will miss my 003R though, it's been a reliable and very nice sounding unit but times are changing no doubt.

Just fwiw I only missed the control surface of my 002 after I sold it. I bought an mc mix to fix that. however I now want a mc/artist control too. Dang gas.

I own a 003 for almost 3 years now and I love it. I asked few people about the RME and i was told to just try it and decide for my self. So i bought the Fireface 800 a week ago and WOW it sounds just amazing compare to my 003. since then it has become my main Interface for tracking and mixing. Now thinking on selling the 003 to get the UFX as a second unit. I just don't why it took me too long to get this unit! It's like there was a blanket between the monitors and me; everything sounds clear and detailed. I can now enjoy my mixes. With RME not a problem H/W Buffer Size (1024 samples). Not trying to do marketing here. Is just my opinion on the product.

It handled fine. I had no problems. I tried both firewire and usb and both worked well.

There is no need to mess with buffer settings in PT when you have the UFX. The input source
is also routed directly to the output of the ufx so you monitor with near zero latency.
This signal doesnt go into your DAW, but directly to your eg HP (headphones) output.

I'm just about to make the exact same jump; from a BLA 003 signature to a BLA modded UFX. How did your UFX work out?

Thanks,
Mike
