Default Digi 001+Cubase = broken sound, help really apprec
Hey guys. I have:
Athlon XP 2500 + MSI motherboard + nVidia2 chipset
Digi 001
Cubase SX 2.0
ASIO drivers
128 samples buffer

I start using Cubase and after some time the sound breaks, much like everything is passed thru a ring modulator. I switch back and forth the application (causing the sound to stop as I don't allow Cubase to run in the background) and the sound starts working fine.

Can you please give me some advice or help?

Bump. Please Digi, or somebody with the knowledge, help me. I can't make music anymore.

I tried incresing the buffer size, changing the bit depth and I still have the same problm.
TIA for any help, I'm pretty desperate.

Do you have the same problem with ProTools?
You never said which version of the ASIO driver you are using?

I don't have the same problem with Protools.
I am using the 6.1.1 ASIO driver. I also uninstalled it and tried the 5.3.3b2 one.

Please Digi, help me with this one. I love Protools and want to stay with it, but if the ASIO drivers don't work fine) I'll have to switch to another brand.

The only way to make it work fine again is to reset the ASIO driver, so that's why I guess is an ASIO issue.

Thanks daBasstard. I want to hear from Digi about it.

I tried ASIO4ALL with the same setuo and I didn't have any problems. Plus, I tried using 4096 buffer size with the Digi ASIO driver and I can't get any sound at all, that's why I suspect about them and not about the machine. (Plus the fact that when I reset the ASIO it starts working fine).

its about the machine. trust me... you should call digi tech support. they'll tell you the same thing.

do you think that adding an AGP card, and disabling the onboard video (if possible) could be a solution?
