Default Pro Tools auto-naming Aux channels in Sends A-E

I deleted an Aux named "Reverb."

I made a new Aux channel and named it "Reverb."

Pro Tools automatically named the new channel "Reverb.1" in the Sends A-E menu.

This is extremely frustrating.

Please help.

Check for hidden tracks. You must still have Reverb somewhere else in the session. That's the only reason this could happen.

We should also get the terminology right, to not confuse things, when discussing this stuff:
A track can have up to ten sends.
A send can be assigned to a bus.
A aux track can have a bus assigned to its input.
There is no such thing as a 'aux channel'. I guess you mean the bus is renamed and not the aux track.

It’s called an aux channel in my world. Tracks are where audio is written/read.

Shure. On old hardware like a mixer or an amplifier I'd also say 'aux channel', but in PT they are tracks. They are created with the 'New track' command, they populate the tracks list, and so on.

Veryhard to see the details on your video.
Are you saying that the aux track that you name 'reverb' gets the .1 added, or do you mean the bus? ('Channel' really means nothing in PT.)

Well, you can either zoom in or deal with my “incorrect” terminology...

I'll not bother, then.

You’re not understanding the difference between busses and tracks. If you delete any kind of track (Aux, Audio, Midi, etc) it does not delete the buss associated with that track.

So, when using a send, you’re actually using a buss who’s name is completely different than the track using that buss.

Look in your I/O page, busses tab and you’ll see all of the buss created.
