Ok, so I think I now understand that if us perpetual ultimate owners continue to pay the $399 per year we'll be just fine to continue having updates and all the features for ultimate going forward. This is great. My question is, what are we missing out on that 'flex' subscribers will be getting for the $999 per year?

The Release Limit date was added to perpetual licenses with the 12.6 release. The date embedded in the license determines the newest version that the license will authorize. If you have a perpetual license, check the Details for that license/bundle in iLok License Manager. At the bottom of the details you'll see Release Limit with a date which indicates the most current release that license will authorize.

As far as I can tell, it’s just Sound Flow and the old Inner Circle stuff. Seems staggeringly bad value. I can only presume they’ll start a 50% discount more or less immediately - this tier makes literally no sense.
