Default double notes when sustaining?

Hello all -

I don't know if this has been up before, but I couldn't find anything, so here goes:

When I record piano with sustain pedal via MIDI, ProTools "doubles" my notes?
It records the actual thing I play + the same in very short notes.
This makes the playback "die" or after only a split second and not the full duration of the chord.

I have experienced this on both the big HD system but also on my small Mbox2 mini.

Am I doing anything wrong? I want to record both the sustain action and the notes I play.
(it takes time to draw the automation afterwards)

I have ProTools LE and Korg/Nord MIDI devices.

Thanks in advance.

I think this should have gone in the Windows forum, sorry.

I'm experiencing the exact same problem (although it happens even
while the sustain pedal is not depressed) - Driving me nuts.
I cannot rectify.

using OS 10.4.10 / PT 7.3.1 with 002 rack - controlled by M_Audio
Keystation Pro 88.

anyone know how to deal with this?

We are aware of the problem and are working on a fix for it.

Please see my post "How I solved my midi double note problem" in the MIDI forum - might be the same or similar issue.

And here's the link:

Though it seems this 'sustain' issue is different. Great that Digi's already on to it too.

I just started having this same problem myself. Has there been a solution posted?

The link in the thread does not work.
