SDII and Windows???
Yey, Ya'll!! Esteban here from the Mac camp. I was just wondering- does anybody know why the PC Pro Tools platform does not support Sound Design II (native Digi mac files).
I have a friend considering both platforms. Also- can ya'll convert SDII into .wav to be able to open a mac session? Any info is appriciated. Live in Texas Esteban.

The PC has to run a program called "Mac Drive 5 XP" to read SD2 files. The Windows drive has to be formated as NTFS as well. I import SD2 files straight into Windows PT all the time. Another nice thing about Mac Drive is that PC users can read all MAC HFS+ discs and drives as well as external firewire drives!

The Windows version of Pro Tools does not support SDII files because SDII files store information in the resource fork. That information (usually) gets lost when the files are copied over to the PC filesystem.
You can use "Save session copy in..." to convert a Mac session to a a cross-platform session using .wav files.
