Default Cubase SX and Pro Tools 6.1 set-up help needed.

I am thinking of trying to do my work in Cubase and just use the Digi001 as a soundcard. I have installed the DigiCore Audio driver and the Midi Driver was moved to the Unused software folder. Open up Cubase and I see the Digi001 as a possible soundcard choice. Reinstall Midi Driver back to proper folder. Shutdown Computer and then restart. Drivers are where they are supposed to be, but the Digi001 no longer comes up as a possible soundcard choice in Cubase. Anyone making this combination work?
