Not that integrates as well with Pro Tools as the Command 8 does. At least not that I am aware of.

Are their other control surfaces that will work with PT? Sure... pretty much anything with HUI emulation - Mackie Control Universal and Baby HUI, some mixing consoles (such as the current lineup of Yamaha boards that have control capabilities built in), the new SSL 900 desk, CM Labs Motor Mix, etc. Most are moer expensive than the Command 8, or close to it. There is a couple of new Behringer control surfaces, and i don't know if they're compatible or not - they're very cheap. Take that either way.

Although it lacks many features of the C8, a Mackie Baby HUI ight be a good alternative if you're on a tight budget... otherwise, I'd recommend saving up for the one you apparently really want.

Why would you say the C8 intergrated better than a Mackie Control (or used HUI)?

yes, I have been thinking about MACKIE, but it's not that much cheaper...yet again, I can control Cubase and any other major sequencing package with it...about the YAMAHA's, I know which one you meant, the 01X, it's a digital desk, and it's really good, but a bit more expensive than the C8...as for the behringer, they are cheap, but not really for this job...
still don't know, you are right, maybe I should just start putting some money aside
and thanks a lot for your time and advice!
