Default VHDCI Cable

Is there a length limit on the cable between the PCI card and the 001 interface? I need a longer cable as I keep my G4 in another room. I have looked over the manual and the DUC with no luck. I assume this is a 68-pin VHDCI SCSI cable. (Correct me if I'm wrong.)

I am upgrading from an original 4 voice TDM PT system. The cable that came that system was 10 feet at least. What's the Digi-spec for 001?

"I know that it is a special cable that is made for the 001 and I believe that is the optimal length as well. I spoke with Digi prior to the 001's release and that is what tech told me. I had the same problem."

DPrice,

Rwest was right on the money. This cable is carrying midi, audio as well as power. The cable was tested and digi determined that this is the maximum cable length before there was any dropoff in performance.

The peripheral cable that we include with the Digi 001 is already at its maximum length. Longer length cables are not available through us or any third party. An increased cable length will result in compromised system performance due to unreliable communication between the interface and the PCI card.
