SC48 not recognized by PT9.05

Hello,

Sorry if this is a n00b question..

Just upgraded to a new Macbook Pro w/Quad 2.8GHz i7, 4GB DDR3, OSX 10.7.3, Running Pro Tools 9.0.5.

Trying to connect to my SC48 via FWx (am NOT on VENUE 3 firmware yet). The computer seems to see it; D-Show (Fwx) shows up under sound devices in system prefs. However Pro Tools does not show it under playback devices and when exploring the Digi CoreAudio Manager it says "unsupported device". Also might be worth noting, when playing back from iTunes with Fwx selected in system prefs and FWX 1 and 2 routed to channels I get no signal.

Tried reconnecting and rebooting everything. Works perfectly when I connect my old macbook pro.


Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Couple of things to start with :

- clean uninstall of PT
- reinstall and make sure you install the digi 003 fw drivers
- still not seen -> go to playback engine and make sure it it set to the venue system

Ok so;

Did a complete uninstall and reinstall of PT9. Installed the 9.06 updater. Still same problem and no dice. Again, VENUE is showing up under sound section of mac system prefs but does not play back through SC48 when selected. FWx does NOT show up under playback engine device tab, only built in input, built in output, and pro tools aggregate IO.

I didn't notice an option to install 003 drivers when installing PT.

Is Venue firmware version 3 required to run on PT9.06?

Sounds like you did not install the 002/003/FWx drivers, which are found here: http://www.avid.com/drivers (about halfway down the page)
