Hardware insert--No audio going to 1-2 master fader.

I think something is screwy here. I looked at the manual, but I don't think I'm doing anything wrong. (but I probably am...)

So I have an outboard compressor I want to use. I set up the insert on the track, and connect the compressor with output #8 and input #8. The comp is working and I hear everything (speakers hooked up to "monitor" outs).

However, the meters on the master fader 1-2 show nothing, and a bounce is silent.

Without the hardware insert, everything works normally.

What am I missing?

OK, just checked a couple of bounces that used a hardware verb. No verb.

My unit is not hearing hardware through the master 1-2. Poop.

Definitely strange..

I've always used sends and auxes with the little outboard I have, but I tried a little test on my 002. I just used TRS patch cables between outputs 7-8 and inputs 7-8 on an insert on a stereo audio track. Had to set the inputs to +4. If I unplug the cables with the insert active then no sound. The insert worked fine and passed audio during record and playback with cables connected..

Maybe try setting up a pre-fader send going to output 8 on the track and mute the track. Then set up an aux track with its input set to 8. this will kind of separate the components so you can see where something might be screwy

If you have low latency monitoring switched on that will happen... page 342 of the Digi reference guide will put you straight.
