Default Unable to open session from the session icon

If I double click the session icon, the pro tools starts up but the session won't open. However I can open the session from open menu in the pro tools. I used to start the session by simply double click the session icon. Do you guys know how to fix this?
Thank you .

Odd. Is this happening on just one particular session or all of them?

That's because the Creator Type isn't set.. this happens if the resource fork is damaged or the file is brought over from a PC or via email usually -- just open the session from the File menu (Command+O) then save it on the Mac.

Are you sure that's right, RJ? If PT fires up when Jah-d doubleclicks it, then OSX recognises the file type.

Jah-d, have you tried doubleclicking the file again once PT has loaded? I have the exact same problem here, but that's probably due to a spurious -3000 error I get every time PT fires up.

Aah.. sorry I missed that Pro Tools started.. in that case he should check if he has mnore than one version of Pro Tools installed on his system -- this can happen if there's another version on one of the drives. If he has ResEdit or Resourcerer he should check that the session type is PTS and the Creator is PTul

Thank you guys for the reply. All sessions are unable to open with double clicking the session icon. However I can open up the session with double clicking if the pro tools is on. I have only one Pro tools application in my system. I was able to open the session with double clicking the session icon before. Since a couple days ago , this problem has started.

I would search your drives for another version of DAE.. the only time this has ever happened is with more than one version residing on the drives.

This exact same problem happened to me and two other PTools users that I know.
I definately do not have another DAE anywhere on my computer.
It's only started recently, and although its not exactly a life and death matter, it is curious.

I've seen this problem on at least 4 G4's, including 2 of mine. Various OS's from 9.04 to Jag. Seen it on TDM rigs too.
