002 Rack - firewire problems

We have a Digi 002 Rack that is not being recognized by PT. When you put the firewire cable into the rack, the green light blinks a couple of times, then goes out.

I've changed cables, and still the same message.

I hooked a Digi 002 board to the computer (this is in our academic studio, I don't happen to just have an extra 002 laying around and that worked fine.

I'm assuming this is a hardware problem, and we need to find somebody who can do physically repair Digi equipment. We do have an out of commission 002 board with the same problem, and I would love to get these both working again.

Any suggestions?

do a search on this forum for "power harness"

There are many 002s that suffered from this problem and the fix is supposed to be easy and effective. There are a range of serial numbers that this applies to and that info is somewhere in those threads...

Thanks so much for the quick response! I remember coming across that in other posts, but I didn't realize it was related.
