Default Pro Tools Ultimate / Third Party Interface / Thunderbolt

I have a very basic question regarding Pro Tools Ultimate and audio*interfaces.*

Using an audio interface like a RME Fireface UFX+ (or similar) connected to a Mac Mini with thunderbolt connectivity, is it possible to run Pro Tools Ultimate, using said interface, with no additional hardware necessary? Will there be any limits on I/O etc? Or do I need HD Native thunderbolt? Thanks in advance for your time.*

Yes that will work. Nothing extra required. 64 ch I/O.

HD Native Thunderbolt is its own thing for Digilink interfaces.

Uh actually Pro Tools Ultimate 2022.4 and later now gets you 256x265 IO with CoreAudio or ASIO which coincidently is enough IO capacity to handle a full Fireface UFX+ config. And if you do want to do lots of I/O I sure would feel more comfortable knowing it’s using RME fantastic quality highly efficient drivers. (I have a UFX+ on Pro Tools studio).

Yes it does.

I was looking at the Studio column

I use a UFX with Ultimate, I should know these things.

I had to look it up, kept thinking it was 128, but it felt not right. Not blessed by having Ultimate myself
