Default best possible way to cut a move back a section

I need a little help here....I want to cut most of the mix I'm doing on this one song at one point but not 4 of the tracks...I go to "select all" so all the tracks can get highlighted...Then I de-highlight the 4 I don't want to cut. But when I set up the block I want to cut it cuts everything including the 4 I didnt want to cut....Let me know what I'm doing wrong here....
