2020.3 and OS10.13 - Initial signs of stability..?
Has anyone spent a little time working with 2020.3 on High Sierra? Is it a fairly safe update from 2019.10?

Re: 2020.3 and OS10.13 - Initial signs of stability..?
I'm using it on High Sierra and it seems pretty stable so far. The only issue I've had is in opening sessions save prior to the update, I ocassionally get the missing files message and have to relink a few files.

Works great on 10.13.6 on 2 different Trashcan 12 core machines. Stable and snappy.

2 cents...
I recently downgraded from Catalina, back to High Sierra, on my 2015 MacBook Pro I7. No issues so far. Also have been running High Sierra on 2011 Mac Pro, 5.1. For a few years now. no issues there either. |

Re: 2020.3 and OS10.13 - Initial signs of stability..?
Same here. We left Catalina off our Trashcans. They actually run better than our 2 brand new insanely expensive overpriced as F! Mac Pro 7.1 machines and that feels soo wrong having to use the older Mac Pros when we just got the new ones with Catalina and I am sure that is the reason the HS and Mojave Trashcans runs way better for now with HD 2020.3 so hopefully PT Ultimate gets better and better going forward. So again HS is IMHO very stable and would use that if you can..

Re: 2020.3 and OS10.13 - Initial signs of stability..?
It seems your mileage may vary. Just did a very clean install of Catalina (the whole process took half a week as I did not cut a single corner) and I can tell this 10.15.4 & 2020.3 combo runs better than anything in Mojave. Too lazy to compare to old High Sierra though, but so far I am impressed.
Apparently the thing with Catalina is clean install from zero to hero.

Re: 2020.3 and OS10.13 - Initial signs of stability..?
Well I mostly work with audio (64 max) and whenever I have VI it is hardly ever over 10 tracks. Still, I am pretty sensitive to how snappy the system works overall. Judging by that what I have with Catalina clean install is way better than anything Mojave related
