Are you possibly referring to the function keys (F1, F2, etc)?

If so - you need to go to the Keyboard & Mouse control panel, then to Keyboard Shortcuts tab and make sure all the F keys are unchecked.

Did you try what I suggested about disabling them in the Keyboard&Mouse control panel?

Why don't you try using command 7. It's an old command but it works fast and great.

I'm at a loss as to what could be happening. The F keys all work fine on the 2.2ghz MBP I'm testing with.

Do you possibly have some other function enabled?

Which exact MBP model are you using?

Do the F keys work in other applications?

hello again and good day to all !

thanks scott ! i tried using command+1 to 7 and it is working .

before i installed protools i follow the Mac Guide - Mac OS X Optimizations and Troubleshooting, disable dashboard , follow optimization etc.

F keys is working normally in other application ,but when I'm using Protools F1 F2 F3 are working normal as mac command . i already unchecked all F keys in keyboard shortcut. and still i cannot use my F keys for protools.

I really want to use the F keys for editing because i know its much easier and saves time .

here is the specs of my macbook pro 2008

2.5 ghz
4 gig ram
17 inches hi res glossy display WS LED
200GB hard drive 7200 rpm

hoping there is a solution with my problem .

thanks you so much and more power !
