As far as the source of your troubles...
the Celeron may in fact be part of the problem.

I use a 2.2 Ghz Celeron with no problems, but I've got 512 MB of RAM, and I'm running XP on a NON sis chipset MoBo.

I think it's probably a combination of many things, most likely in this order...

1. Celeron
2. sis chipset
3. WIN 98 os
4. 256 RAM

Good luck man!!! I hope you get right side up soon!!!

Hi paul.

Before you start pulling too many things apart, try recording to your system drive. And maybe try moving your audio drive to a different channel, eg same (or different) to your system drive, remove cd drive (temporarilly).

Check that your settings are using 85% of cpu and that your buffer is large.

You've probably done this but just thought it was worth a mention.

Best regards,

Haigbabe

Default multiple track recording with 001

so i have had my 001 up and running for about a week now with no major problems. Thanks to all of you who have replyed to my previous questions!!! I have managed to get it working with my original mobo.. which has an SiS chipset. No problems at all just a re-instal of win98 SE.

Today I wanted to record my band. I decided to just track the bass and drums (7 tracks in all) together. I put the computer into record and after about 5 seconds it comes up with the message ... 'increase hardware buffer size' the problem is that my h/w buffer size is all ready at max ... so i tried increasing my DAE buffer size as well but still had the same problems (althouh this time it recorded for about 30 seconds) Bummer.

I checked all the stupid things like DMA on the drives and so on... but after that i got stuck. Can anyone help?? The band are coming back again tomorrow and i don't want to send them home with my face red!!

Thank you

Paul
