Default Re: Audio stutter when browsing the web on Sonoma

Unfortunately both aggregation and multi-client use tends to invites issues, if you try without an aggregate and with different interfaces used by each source does this still happen?

I would try the aggregate with clock corrections all checked and not, even if it should not be needed.

Are you seeing the orange Mic icon flickering in the menu bar? As folks just reminded in other threads that macOS silliness can cause problems.

Something seemed to change around Sonoma/Sequoia that has caused some clocking related issues for some folks. I've been getting clicks on basic playback from Apple Music on setups that seemed not to do this before, may be multi-client, or interface related, not had time to fully debug (and that laptop system got repurposed for a while).

OK, that's narrowed things down.

It must be an issue with the Aurora software on Sonoma. The issue persists if I just use the Aurora (unaggregated) and regardless of whether I clock it internally or externally. As soon as I switch to the Neve on its own, or onboard Mac speakers, the problem disappears.

Thanks for helping me troubleshoot - sounds like an issue I'll need to get onto Lynx about. I'm on the most recent firmware and software.

UPDATE: problem fixed! Here's the solution that Lynx came back to me with in case anybody else has issues.

This is something others have bumped into with the new Apple ADK driver model.
There's not really a way to change how this works at an infrastructure level.

You could try the older KEXT driver model and see if that works more like what you are used to.

You would need to follow these steps to install it:

Find the Lynx Driver installer in Applications and trash it
Boot into recovery mode and change your security settings per these instructions:
Click on Shutdown. and restart the Macintosh in the recovery environment by holding down the power key continuously until the recovery environment starts.
Click on Security Policy…
Select "Reduced Security" and make sure "Allow remote management of kernel extension and automatic software updates" is checked. PLEASE NOTE that you must leave the system set to Reduced Security permanently or the driver will not load. Next click on OK and restart the Macintosh.

Download and install driver build 63. Make sure and ALLOW the blocked driver from security and privacy at the end of the process
Reboot when prompted and test.

Thanks everyone for your help.
