Is this on an M4 Mac? I've never seen it until using this computer, and it immediately appeared, even have a completely fresh system install.

I can also confirm this assertion error when duplicating tracks on a Mac Mini M4 Pro running 2024.10.1

Good to hear I’m not alone! Sucks that we have these systems we can’t really use yet though! Will we be getting a 2024.12 update?

I really hope there is an update this month because Pro Tools is basically unusable on my system (M4 Max). Assertion error (the PT COLOR one) stopping me from opening sessions. I have to trash prefs just to get it to open, and when it does I have a few hours maximum before the errors come back (usually much sooner).
Also experiencing a tonne of “beachballs”. |

Same problem when duplicating tracks (and creating tracks sometimes). I have Sonnox plugins installed but not used.

Also having lots of issues on M4. Crashes when opening old sessions (some assertion having to do with color), frequent crashes during "building edit window", creating new tracks. Hope we see a new version this month.

I've come across those crashes when creating new tracks, duplicating tracks, committing tracks, or importing tracks from other sessions. No real work around besides bringing it back up and trying again. I haven't found a specific thing that triggers it 100% of the time. Current issues aren't mission critical for me right now...but surely very frustrating. Let's keep crossing our fingers for an update soon and hoping they see these threads. |

I've got an M4 Mini on the way. M4 Pro 14 Core, 1Tb SSD and 48G of ram. This will eventually replace my Mac Mini 2018-2020 i7. I saw the alert from Sonnox about the M4. They suggest to run in rosetta temporarily until the issue is resolved (they say it's an ilok issue). I was planning on waiting to install everything once protools has a fix/update. However, this got me thinking. Do these protools issues persist if booted in rosetta? Could get folks through while waiting.

This I can't understand. Then why are plugins from most other vendors (that mainly also use iLok) working perfectly fine? What would make Sonnox plugins specific in this respect? I just hope they're not on the wrong track about this, because that could mean many months of no fix once they find out it isn't iLok's fault after all.
