Default Digibase errors causing crash when browsing for audio

I have crashes when I try to browse for audio using the digibase browser. I can't figure out why? Can anyone help?
I am running PTLE 7.4cs3 and have been able to get 245 dverbs with no performance issues on my new HPm8120n. I had trouble with the video card when using the Vista Home that came with the computer, but I formatted the hard drives and installed XP Pro, removed the TV card(it was a media center computer) and have had no problems since.
System specs per cpuz... I do have a Digi002r, Behringer B-Fader controller running in hui emulation mode, a Behringer ADA8000 lightpipe 8ch mic pre, various midi keyboards, plugins galore, and a firewire external hard drive 320gb, and a 500 gb external usb 2.0 drive.

Operating System: Microsoft Windows XP Professional 5.01.2600 Service Pack 2

When you say "crashes", what exactly happens? Pro Tools shuts down? System BSOD/restart?

What exactly are you doing at the time of the crash? Does it crash when you just open the Digibase browser? Or when you are trying to do something else?

Have you trashed prefs and databases?

Protools closes and it occurs if I open a folder in my samples folder or if I try to preview or drag any audio.

What drive is the samples folder on? Have you checked the drive for errors? Have you checked to make sure that the drive and the files/folders in that samples folder are not compressed? What kind of files are they?

Do you have Quicktime installed? (it's a requirement)

I remember Vocal VooDoo complaining about this about 6 months ago. I'm not sure he ever found the cause. It was around the time he bought his Mac so it may have not even been his PC but I believe it was.

Is Dr Josh in da house?

The samples are on the usb drive and some streaming sample libraries (ivory, atmosphere, and BFD) are on an internal ide/sata drive. I have checked all drives for errors. They are not compressed, Quicktime 6.5.1 is installed and the file types vary.

USB Drive. Not supported for Pro Tools. This may be the issue as the data can't get from the drive fast enough. Try it with a Firewire drive, with the correct chipset, of course.

Cheers,

The digibase errors occur even without the usb drive attached? Any ideas?
