hey guys... I asked about this awhile ago and had no success finding the info i needed. Here is what my question is... How do I do multiple takes on certain tracks with out making a new track... I knwo on Cubase you can do it and have like 20 takes on 1 track and jsut choose/edit from all 20 and then combine them to amke the final track. Is there anythign liek that on Protools without jsut makeing a bunch of seperate tracks for takes? Because to do 5 takes or more on drums and to make 8 tracks over and over again is pretty rediculous.... I head someone say something aobut playlists or something but i didn't find anything about it. Could someone hook me up with a link or a simple explanation? That would be awesome... Thanks again.
Jonny

Well the easist way is just to highlight the area you want to do multiple takes with, record them, and then you can shift left click at the begining of the region, and it should pull up all the takes in a list, and you can select which take you want there. If your comping, I'd create a new track and copy and paste the parts you want in the new track, do your fades, then consolidate the region.
Loop record is a convient way to get multiple takes too. |

Hmm.. i jsut found the playlist thing.. I feel kinda retarded that i didn't see it before. ha ha.. The purpose I'm using it is mostly for multiple takes on an entire song for a drummer. I see how to use the playlist thing.. but is there a way to make simples cange playlists for all 8 tracks? or will i have to go to each one and switch? Thanks again..

if you make your drum tracks into a group then you can change for the drum group.
