since upgrading to 2024.3 from 2023.12.1
PT midi input now has major latency with any plugin (like autotune) on the session hard bypass the plugin and midi records in time. otherwise everything is late. this was not the case until upgrading to the new PT last week. rolled back and tried to test in 2023.12.1 but i hit play and the cursor just sticks. seems like i cant roll back. this is a pretty big issue. here's a screen capture: https://www.dropbox.com/s/dafv2v4x7k...issue.mov?dl=0 any ideas? mac studio 12.7.4 Protools Ultimate 2024.3 / HDX sonnet PCI thunderbolt chassis |

Just wondering, does it happen in new sessions (created in 2024.3)?

well, here's hoping 2024.10 finally fixes this issue. tried reading all the docs about bug fixes and "known issues" and could not find this issue mentioned. maybe it was. only way to find out is by installing. wish me luck.

My understanding is that some of it was tweaked in 2024.10 but the complete fix is in a future release. But Im checking that out.... Marianna

installed 2024.10. No go. same issue man this is tiring. months since logging this latency issue & i was even promised it would be fixed in yesterday's update (see below) how long must i wait to be able to use the software i am paying for? for now i rolled back to 2023.12.1 Entered on: 9/5/2024 5:18 PM Entered by: Manuel Christopher Hi Strawb, Good day! I hope this e-mail finds you well. We are still working closely on the bug fix for bug#PT-262860. The fix will be implemented in the next Pro Tools Releases but there is no date yet that we can disclose. In this case, we usually close the case with a bug and there is an ongoing bug fix. Then we suggest to always check the Pro Tools Release notes for further updates. https://avid.secure.force.com/pkb/ar...-Release-Notes I'll be closing this case for the time being but you can still respond if you still need assistance within 30 days. Have a great day! Best, Manuel L. |
