Default Problems importing audio from video

Hi everyone

Im trying to import the audio from a quick time video but no matter what method im trying, the audio is more like loud noise. The noise sounds like the bit rate and sample rate are not set correctly but PT should convert the audio so its fits the session bit- and sample rate. The audio is 8 bit mono 8 kHz recorded from a small camera and plays back fine in the quick time player.

Im I doing something wrong or...

Win Xp sp2
PT Le 7.4 cs. 3
DV Tool kit 2

Thanks

Upgrade to QuickTime Pro (very cheap) and export from that.

Hold on "The audio is 8 bit mono 8 kHz". You recorded it like that?? Wow, that's going to sound good! Export a wav in the resolution you intend to use.
