strange problem

Yo people,

i was recording some students today and the strangest thing happend.

I'm working on a macbookpro 17" 2gig ram with the mbox 2 and PT 7.1.1cs2 (i think)..
when i put the output from my spl goldmike into the line (trs) input of the mbox i always get a sort of ghost sound even when i mute all channels and set all inputs to no input. this is the first time for me that i use that combination and i don't understand what happens and what i can do to get rid of it... Is it the cable, the inpuy (what means trs), I don't understand that i get sound when everything is muted etc..
It sounds on one ear in the headphones and when i put it in record than it gets as it's supposed to be..


can anybody tell what's going on or what i do wrong
I worked with a session that came from pc PT 7.1cs10 (?) used with 002R
tried switch auto input monitor, tried reboot, checked no doubble phantom

Doesn't the Mbox 2 still have the "Mix" knob that lets you mix between the direct input channel and the signal in protools?

Try adjusting that (just a guess).
